First State Investments is part of Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM), the asset management business of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, with investment offices in Sydney, London, Edinburgh, Singapore, Hong Kong and Jakarta. CFSGAM has funds under management of US$121.9 billion (A$144.3b) as of 30 June 2010, and provides asset management services to wholesale and institutional investors across a diverse range of asset classes.

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) is an international financial services company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, it is one of the largest banks in Australia. CBA has total assets held and funds under management of US$691.8 billion (A$819.1b) as of 30 June 2010.

In Asia, we provide a diversified range of products to both retail investors and institutions. These products span across asset classes including but not limited to global and regional equities, fixed interest and credit, as well as securities in the resources, listed property and infrastructure sectors. Australian equity and fixed income products are also offered to investors in Japan, who are serviced by a dedicated team that is based in Sydney.

In Hong Kong, we manage Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) products, whilst in Singapore, several of our funds are approved for investment using Central Provident Fund (CPF) monies.

First State Investments is represented in Shenzhen and Beijing as First State Cinda, a joint venture with China Cinda Asset Management Corporation. This is the first Australian fund management joint venture in China and the first fund management company held by a state-owned asset management company. The joint venture head office is located in Shenzhen, China, with a branch office located in Beijing.
